Vehicles · Two Wheel

Half the wheels, twice the attention

Bikes are the purest version of what this site is about: engine, gearbox, road, and nothing to hide behind. The crew's two-wheel history is short, loud and Suzuki-shaped.

In the garage

Suzuki GSX-R

The Gixxer. An inline-four sportbike from the era when Suzuki built the sharpest tool on the shelf and priced it for students. Ours came with one piece of paperwork worth keeping: a clean VIN check against the Canadian Police Information Centre before any money changed hands.

Engine
Inline-four, liquid cooled, redline somewhere your ears will tell you about
Gearbox
Six-speed, cassette style, clutch that punishes lazy hands
Best at
Highway 507 on a weekday morning, and making Integras feel slow
Buying a used bike, the short version. Run the VIN through CPIC and a paid history report. Check the frame for straightness at the steering head. Look for chain and sprocket wear, fork seal weeping, and tire date codes older than five years. Cold start it yourself. If the seller warms it up before you arrive, ask why.

Shortlist

Bikes the crew argues about

JDM

Honda CB750

The original superbike. Air-cooled four, disc brake, electric start in 1969. Everything after is a footnote.

JDM

Kawasaki ZX-7R

The 90s superbike that looked like a race bike because it was one. Heavy, green, gorgeous.

JDM

Yamaha RZ350

Two-stroke twin, power valves, a smell you'll never forget. One of the last street two-strokes sold here.

Adventure

Suzuki DR650

The Land Cruiser of motorcycles. Simple, unkillable, fixable with a rock.

Euro

Ducati Monster 900

Trellis frame, dry clutch rattle, air-cooled L-twin. Fewer cylinders, more character per cylinder.

Classic

Triumph Bonneville T120

The 60s one. Parallel twin, kickstart, and the reason your grandfather has a scar on his shin.
